Honour the fallen, for we will never forget.

If there's one thing I've developed over these past seven 9/11s, it's the respect for the firefighters who were at the World Trade Centre and the passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 who did what they could to overpower the hijackers.

An excerpt from Wikipedia:

A total of 411 emergency workers who responded to the scene died as they attempted to implement rescue and fire suppression efforts. The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) lost 341 firefighters and 2 FDNY paramedics. The New York City Police Department lost 23 officers. The Port Authority Police Department lost 37 officers, as well as a K9 dog named Sirius. Private EMS units lost 8 additional EMTs and paramedics.

These people, inlcuding emergency workers who survived, are my true heroes. My heart will always go out to those who lost their lives on this day 7 years ago and their relatives.
