Baby you're gonna be a star.

About a week ago I noticed a chameleon in our front yard. Those things are really damn hard to notice when they’re in the wild, so the first thing I did was take a picture of it. I admired its innocence, just walking up a tree branch minding its own business. As cool as it was, I didn’t want to remove it from there or anything, so I just left it in peace.

Then my dad saw me with the camera and I told him about the chameleon. Within seconds the whole family was crowding around it, shouting and wanting to catch it. Needless to say I got pissed off and told everyone to go away and leave it alone. They did, and now it’s gone off to somewhere else. Maybe on another tree, or even to another house. I don’t know.

I am extremely satisfied knowing that it’s out there somewhere in freedom and not locked up in some aquarium.

Sometimes I wish we could do the same to other human beings and just let them live their quiet innocent lives. I hope I never become famous. I don’t want to be locked up in an aquarium called “celebrity status”. No one should.
